We were below par and the injuries are starting to catch up with us.

I wish goobers like Gold0 would stop predicting top six when we win a couple in a row. The heightened expectations are almost guaranteed to end our run.

Re: West Ham v Watford - Official Match Thread FT 0-2
disappointed as i am with our loss yesterday, i have to say that i accept it so much more with our style of play than the boring shit we had to suffer so much from the fat walrus and the ginger jock.
it's true that we were well below par yesterday, but we still made chances that on anothe day and with a team functioning better we would have given watford a bit of a tonking.
as others have said we did have a bad day at the office yesteay, but we'll learn from this and continue to push on.
onwards and upwards i say.

in El Pell we trust. COYI !!!!.

Said we would draw one and lose one in December and early January in one of the predictions thread. The point total was among the highest in the thread.

So the loss is done and we need 2 wins and draw in the remaining games in this winnable stretch.

Mediocre performances from a few players that have been producing lately cost us. We have been on the edge for a few of our wins and our quality was the difference, no real quality yesterday. Hopefully we take this as a remedy for complacency and finish this run strong.

I thought we were unlucky yesterday.

Although their penalty definitely was one, it was caused by one of our players injuring himself and consequently making a clumsy challenge.

Antonio failed to get a brace by millimetres. Hernandez' shot on target was supplemented by another which he mishit.

A Watford loss would have been harsh on them, but their win was harsh on us.

We were not particularly bad yesterday but take nothing away from Watford, the best of the last five teams we've played, because Watford were the better side.

it's all about opinions. many thought we were shit yesterday, I didn't and thought we more than deserved a draw. I also loved the players attitude and commitment, he's a few like anderson weren't firing properly, but those cunts were hanging on for a long time before the undeserved second goal

Irons, I’m not sure what you’re point is. What do you actually want a detailed chat on, the fact we missed 3 sitters from five yards out or the fact we gave a stupid penalty away.

So yes I have written it off as a bad day at the office because that’s exactly what it was.

The difference between yesterday and the last four games is yesterday our finishing was poor, it was nothing to do with link up play , nothing to do with the midfield being over run just we couldn’t put the ball in the net. So what do you actually want a detailed chat on.

Im glad you’ve met some decent footballing chaps from this site, but I’m really not sure what that’s got to do with anything.

Chelmsford, I don’t even think we necessarily disagreed about the tactics employed. You merely wanted to write it off as a bad day at the office and I was keen for a more detailed chat. I’ve had some time today and was interested to engage with other West Ham fans in a suitable place.

Others are bemoaning the demise of this place and it is sad that the most detailed conversation to be had on this site is on non West Ham related threads. I’ve met quite a few chaps on here, usually when exchanging tickets, and they have always been decent footballing types.

Onwards to Thursday anyway.

In what was always going to a tough game, it could have gone either way.
Same goes in some other games on our winning run, except on those days we finished, they couldn't.

Irons, I’m sorry irons, next time I ll tell you what a wonderful pundit you are as you obviously get upset when someone disagrees with you.

I’ll chat tactics all day if you like, no problem but at the same time I understand tactics aren’t to blame for everything and yesterday was one of them . It was down to piss poor finishing.

Some of Noble's passing/crossfield balls yesterday were outrageously good - plenty to feel encouraged about as on another day the chances will go in.

Sorry Chelmsford, Ill stop attempting to discuss West Ham’s tactics on westhamonline and meet you on one of the political threads.

This site needs a culling !

Re: West Ham v Watford - Official Match Thread FT 0-2
irons, if we didn't have any link up play we wouldn't have had so many chances would we. I know you're trying to be some kind of football pundit but trust me you're reading far too much into a game that was lost because we failed to score from 6 yards out 3 times. It really isn't rocket science.

Re: West Ham v Watford - Official Match Thread FT 0-2
We went for it.

The manager took the approach of saying “we’ll play our game and make them worry about us not the other way round”

Sometimes it won’t come off, but either way I think it’s hard to justify changing a winning side.

Re: West Ham v Watford - Official Match Thread FT 0-2
I think we probably deserved a point, but Watford were very impressive. Unusually, they've stuck with a manager for a couple of seasons and it's beginning to show. It'll be interesting to see where we are this time next season. We seem to be very much heading in the right direction, but of course with West Ham it's best not to get too excited.

Herandez had been excellent of late... played well... scored goals... why would you not start him yesterday?? To be fair I thought he done ok... brilliant bit of play that almost set up a goal for himself (superb bit of defending)... yes Antonio had been looking a bit more like a footballer rather than a lumbering HW boxer but would have been tough on him being up top on his jack yesterday....

Re: West Ham v Watford - Official Match Thread FT 0-2
Just watched the highlights for the first time

Dear me almost forgot how many chances we created - how we didn’t at least make it 1-1 is beyond me

The usually dependable Diop has had a howler for their second goal - but can’t dig the lad out too much given his performances this season

Still think what I thought on the day, which is Watford just about deserved the win and we’d have been nicking a point had we got it.

Feel a lot better going into Thursday reminding myself of all the chances we made.
